FAMINE, FRIENDS AND FENIANS Exhibit Sponsorship

Exhibition Opening October 21

Freedom, equality, and civil rights are timeless themes and yearnings that resonate as powerfully today as they did from the 1840s to 1916.  During that time, New Bedford’s Quaker community (or Friends) played a pivotal role not only in the United States’ struggle for those ideals, but also in Ireland’s tortuous struggle for independence. New Bedford stood front and center in a sweep of history vividly brought to life in a major exhibition titled Famine, Friends and Fenians opening on October 21st.
